Saved & Fly

JG. Hey there. How's everything?

CeeCee: Everything’s great! How are you?

JG. I'm awesome. I really appreciate you doing this interview with me for JesusGroupie.com.

CeeCee: You're so welcome sweetie.

JG. So, let's get right into it. Did you actually grow up in church? When did you get saved?

CeeCee: Uh, I did. But it was more like a dead church; not a church of the living word. So, yes I had a concept of what church was growing up, but I didn't come into what you call a full knowledge of Christ until about maybe 8 years ago, while I was out in California. It was a very small, store-front church called The Burning Bush Church; if I recall correctly. Pastor... ummm, it's been a long time so I don't want to say the wrong name, but that church turned gave me a fresh perspective and turned me around.

JG. Ok. So that was some years ago; where are your currently and who's your Pastor?

CeeCee: I'm currently in transition, so I'm not under a particular pastor right now. I mean... in a perfect world, I could be; but for people who do deliverance ministry as I do, that topic is not always as cut and dry as it may be for others. To be honest, I am really tired of the whole "Who's your Bishop?", "Who's your this and who's your that?". I want to focus on getting people saved and delivered.

JG. I hear you sis.

CeeCee: Don't take that the wrong way, but I'm just at a point where I know that those things are neither here nor there because in all actuality, we are the church and think it's very important to be planted and even more important to have a covering, but what do you do when four or five coverings have fallen?

JG. What do you mean?

CeeCee: We're in the end times.

JG. True.

CeeCee: Everyone needs to learn the Bible for themselves and get a relationship with Christ for real because even the highly elect are going to be deceived. The first will be last and the last will be first. Many of the children will rise up and do great works. Children... the youth is my focal point in ministry.

JG. That's awesome. The children are our future.

CeeCee: Yes. I praise God for using me to further His kingdom during these times, but I do sometimes get disheartened because it hurts to see such great people over the years go nuts, if you will. People are losing it... getting farther away from the will of God. So I die to myself daily, study the Word, and stay in constant prayer. I don't want to fall to those tricks that have led others astray. I want to be strong and follow the mandate He has put on my life and be an example to the youth of what is possible.

JG. Very inspirational words.

CeeCee: And I mean them. Young people are tired of leaders telling them one thing and doing another, but at the same time they need leadership. One of the things I am most proud of with The Godz Girl Network is that I am able to show them that abstinence from drugs, alcohol and premarital sex is not only a desire of God for us, but it's attainable. I am a second chance virgin and have been for almost 10 years. We are in a world where STD's including HIV/AIDS is rampant. We have to reclaim our bodies and our souls through Christ.

JG. Amen to that! So, tell us a little about your acting career; specifically your role in the hit TV show, "Girlfriends".

CeeCee: Sure. I played the regular and recurring role of Yvonne Blackwell on the show. But even more importantly, I left "Girlfriends" to do full-time ministry about 6 years ago. God called me out. He will not call everyone out because He has called some people to act on television and that's great. But He needed me elsewhere and I heeded the call.

CeeCee Michaela Harshaw

JG. Ok. So what advice do you give to youth who want to go into acting also?

CeeCee: I mean, it's not fantastical. It's really not all that. I'm not trying to be difficult, but I'm just so freagin' real and I'm just so over it. Most every Pastor and Bishop and people in other ministries were also doing some amazing things when God called them too. It's just that when a person leaves television because of a calling, it becomes like, "Oh my gosh... she left a TV show?!" Hey, I didn't even watch the show when I was on it. It was a job and that was it.

JG. Does that mean you advise them against it?

CeeCee: Not necessarily. I tell them to be careful with their eye and ear game when making decisions as to which jobs to take. In other words, are you going to do a beer commercial, knowing that you don't drink beer? Is that check worth more than knowing that you could've influenced someone's decision to drink and maybe drink and drive and then maybe even kill someone or themselves. I teach girls to think for themselves, but to remember what God wants because you will be accountable for those decisions later on. You're a Christian, so they have to remember that although it's just work, how will you affect others when they're walking out of church and see your face on that Alize billboard? We have to live what we say. I teach them that they can enter the business, but they have to stay prayed up and keep their morals, but I do also try to discourage it in some ways because the pickings are slim. What are they going to do? We are in the end times and many of the shows reflect that fact. You have shows about witchcraft like Charmed; shows about vampires like Buffy; reality shows like Fear Factor... God didn't give us a spirit of fear; Sex and The City; the list goes on.

JG. Good point.

CeeCee: We need to wake up. We can't do business as usual. We can't even parent as usual. Back in the day, we had basic pagers... beepers if you will. Nowadays, these young girls have camera phones and take half naked pictures of themselves to put on their personal myspace pages. These girls are getting text messages from boys in the middle of class with inappropriate pictures on them. It's a whole new level of access to demonic things. The enemy is busy and after our youth. Satan does not want our youth to know their potential in Christ and he is succeeding. I feel very blessed to be able to offer the Godz Girl Network to the youth for awareness of these things.

JG. Cool. I checked out MahoganyGirl.com which is the etiquette and purity website of yours. How long have you been setting up those types of classes?

CeeCee: The Godz Girl Network has been around since 2004, so I'd say since then. We set up shop... our headquarters are here in Atlanta. With etiquette comes abstinence and vice versa. In other words, purity is often linked to the way that young ladies dress and carry themselves. There are actually girls out here who are virgins, but they are perceived as fast because of their style and the way they act when they're around their friends.

JG. I got you.

CeeCee: Yeah. It's like, you have on a mini-skirt baby! There is a proper way to cross your legs with certain skirts and dresses. And why do I see your thong outside of your pants? And you're wondering why boys aren't talking to you with respect? It's not cute... not becoming at all. Sit up straight sweet pea... hold your head up high so that people can see how you feel about yourself. Etiquette is another ministry that God placed within me to help young girls. Girls are so infatuated with and spend a lot of time thinking about what is attractive to a boy. From the weaves to the lip gloss, to the shaved legs to the perfume they wear. It is my goal to instill self esteem into girls through God first and to show them self love. Love yourself and work to please God, not a boy or a man.

JG. Well said CeeCee. Nothing lasts if you don't do it for Christ.

CeeCee: Absolutely. God is your one true love. He is the only one who will never leave or forsake you. A lot of girls believe that sex is the only way to show a boy love. Girl please! As soon as you give it up he's out of there and even if he ain't, he hasn't given you a ring yet. These boys don't even know what the basic budget for engagement rings. We need to help change their thought process. If you're going to be planning to have sex, plan to spend that money and get your girl a ring to marry her. How can you be in your 20's and 30's and haven't priced out wedding rings? Oh, bet I bet you priced out those rims for your car though!{Laughter}

JG. True that! So tell me about the upcoming "Holywood" retreat.

CeeCee: Ok. Godz Girl Network gives a two day retreat each year around the end of June in the Atlanta area. This year is no different. It is called Holywood which is obviously a cute play off of the word Hollywood. We have about 500 or so girls that show up. I keep the activities very intimate... up close and personal. It includes a beauty treatment of manicures, pedicure, hair styling, and massage, along with some of the top speakers to talk to them in an educational panel where they're able to ask questions in a Q&A format. They're broken up into groups to make sure that each age group gets exactly what they need in terms of information. We have 8 to 10 or 12 year olds, 13 and up, and the parents even get their own class. After the panel, we go to dinner. After that we come back to what we call The Pink Carpet Papparazi Walk, which is really fun for everyone. Then there is a wonderful play that evening that is extremely powerful, dynamic, life changing theater. The next morning is my favorite part which is the All White Purity Ceremony where the girls are all dressed in beautiful white and they walk down an aisle and make a commitment to God and all of us who are there that they will remain pure until marriage. Then they receive a sterling silver purity ring which I also designed and I wear. This year is the first time that we will encourage the single moms and dads to do the same thing... lead by example, right?

JG. Right! That's beautiful.

CeeCee: You can't be preaching to your daughter about premarital sex and you sleeping in the bed with your boyfriend. We're so excited! Oh yeah, we also do a balloon release outside. The girls attach a card to the balloon addressed to God and on that card can be anything that has broken their hearts, anything they may be bitter about... anything negative that they have a hard time letting go of and we pray over it and literally let go and let God. I say that when the sky has engulfed the balloon and it can no longer be seen that God has taken that burden.

JG. Wow. I'm sure there is quite a bit of healing during and as a result of this retreat.

CeeCee: You have no idea. Sometimes I am even in awe. We do a lot of prayer counseling during the retreat. There are so many instances where you are helping someone get through issues stemming from being molested, having an abortion, being raped, drug abuse, abandonment, and more. They're hurting iNDIGO; hurting so intensely and they have no idea how great God is... how able He is to remove all of their pain if they just have a personal relationship with Him and trust Him.

JG. Praise the Lord! That's so deep.

CeeCee: It definitely is.

CeeCee Michaela Harshaw

JG. What else is coming up for you... anything else in the works?

CeeCee: Well yes actually. I'm working on something called "Lawyer Land" which deals with Christianity and the legal system, but I don't want to get ahead of myself and give too many details too soon. On another note, my next project is going to involve moving to get a bill passed in Congress. The bill and law is against molestation. I believe that it is important to make it clear that as soon as a child is able to speak... if they can say MaMa, DaDa, no, or sing a TV show theme song, then they it should be made mandatory to teach them to say, "No Penis No", scream, and run. We teach our children that fire is bad. If you see fire, scream and run find an exit. Why not with adult private parts? Many babies under the age of 5 are being molested... giving grown men oral sex and have no idea that anything is even wrong with it. That's not right. I plan to bring as much attention to this issue as possible and I plan to move forward with it this year because God spoke it to me to do so and I have to be obedient. I don't know anything about passing a law or whatever, but God is in control. Please keep me in your prayers.

JG. I promise I will. God bless you and your ministry. I thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this interview with me for JesusGroupie.com.

CeeCee: Oh, it was fun. I thank God for the opportunity. I hope it touches someone who needs to hear. And if anyone would like to see more details about the retreat, please visit www.ceeceemichaela.com
